Halfway Ultrasound

Bee! We got so excited to meet you today!

I had an ultrasound this morning here in Austin, the results of which they'll send to Dr. Anderson in St. Paul by Friday's appointment. First impressions:

• We don't think you'll look like Paul! How is it possible that we have a baby that isn't ... Paul? May sound odd, but today was the first time we thought about independent, unique Bee and not another mini-Paul.
• We're sorry we couldn't get a better look at you and your little face. At first I thought it was the tech's fault, but she was actually quite good, and the placement of the placenta (smack in front) made it difficult to get strikingly clear shots. But then - come on - we're talking pictures of someone who's inside me, so it's still pretty neat!
• We saw Bee move and kick and look straight-on at "us" (read: the wand) when she was looking for a good profile shot. We could see your eyes and everything. Bee's mouth opened and closed while we were watching - so sweet. (The mouth and profile are what we think looks different from Paul.)
• Since we know what to expect this time around - ya know, a tiny human, cuddles, noises, nursing, sleeping, etc. - we got so excited for that to come in a few months! That's something that didn't, couldn't really, happen before having a baby. I'm only halfwaaaay?
• Bee measures as making entrance on January 31st. That's a couple days later than the early ultrasound's measurements and still 8 ahead of what we'd calculated. So ... let's compromise, Bee, on at least making it to February, eh, and get your own birthday month?
