10 weeks + a checkup

Wow, things got pretty real. Obviously we knew there's a baby in there, and we've been excited and happy about it, but seeing that wee one move at just 10 weeks is just ... incredible. Bee's little hand was moving about, and s/he kicked a leg, too - visual proof; I can't feel anything yet. In fact, the placenta is forming at the front of my womb this time, so I may not feel much for a while still. Paul's was towards the back, and I felt him about 14 or 15 weeks already. Dr. Anderson said everything looks great and is in great shape to have another very low risk pregnancy. Happy to hear!

OH! And the date has changed things a little. Apparently Busy Bee is very busy and measures from crown to rump at 11wks 3days already (whaaa?!)  So now there are 3 potential "due dates" that make up a wide, two-week range: the Prem Rule used in NFP charting is February 7th; the last-period-rule says February 2nd; the size of the baby bumps it up to January 29th!! The 20wk ultrasound will measure the baby again and predict the time maybe a little better, but really only God knows when this little one will arrive. 

It was also Paul's 18mos check-up, and with the other appointments for the ultrasound and OB check, things got a little muddled up front with scheduling; and we had to rush our Well Baby exam =/. In retrospect, it's the toddler we know least about and where we wanted to spend the most time. He's caught up on his vaccines until he's 6, and he's moving along fine ... though we have to remind Dr. Kobberman that he's learning bilingually, so he doesn't hit the "10 words or more" marker. He does animal noises, though: dog, cat, duck, cow, and sometimes ssssnake. His stats: 23 lbs (15%), 33" (75%), and 19" head circumference (77%) = long, skinny baby with a fat head ;)

Also, I wanted to add a little something about including Paul-updates here. I've been torn about whether or not to do it, but Dylan encourages me. He says that Paul will be a very important person in Busy Bee's life, and it'd be odd to write about one without the other. (Plus, this week, it was an extra info-filled Paul week with the check-up.)
